Relaxation boat hire - General Info

You do not need a boating licence or any special qualification to drive a Cruiser, controls are simple and easy to use, a steering wheel just like a car and one lever for forward and reverse. Once onboard, you will receive a friendly, easy to understand operational briefing from our trained and experienced staff.

Our cruisers are powered by a safe and reliable diesel engine. No need to worry about refueling as there is ample fuel for your cruising. As you depart from the heart of a water wonderland, you are in easy reach of all the majestic and popular locations. You can drive from the extra large fly bridge area with unobstructed vision or from the main cabin.

Safe and Secure

Your Cruiser has wide, easy to walk around decks with high safety rails. This safety feature, along with easy access to the large comfortable fly bridge area, ensures our boats are well suited for children. If help is required, we can be easily contacted by two-way radio, or use your mobile phone - a 12 volt power socket is supplied.

There is no need to worry about anchoring at night as there are 40 moorings available throughout the area. On return to Akuna Bay, we will come out and drive the boat in. No need to 'park' the boat.

Do I need a boat license?
You do not need a boat license or any other special qualifications to hire one of our boats. The cruisers are very easy to operate with a steering wheel and one lever for forward and reverse. You receive a thorough briefing on the operation of the boat by one of our trained staff at boarding. We also help you set off, and on return, we will moor the boat for you.

What does the boat come with?
Crockery, cutlery, kitchen utensils, glassware, bottle opener, kettle, pots, pans. Cleaning equipment, tea towels dishwashing liquid, and garbage bags. Pillows and Blankets. Toilet paper and hand soap. TV, DVD player, CD player, radio. gas BBQ, dinghy and we even supply the oars! Local area map. Information on the Hawkesbury and Pittwater area. Boat operating manual. Regulation safety equipment, including life jackets are on board.

Is fuel included in the hire charge or is it extra?
Fuel is extra. It is based on how long you run the engine for. Fuel is charged on a per engine hour basis for cruisers and houseboats. The average hourly running is 2 hours per day.

What happens if something goes wrong on board?
There is a 2-way radio on board. A mobile phone is handy but reception varies because of the geography of the area.

Is there security parking for my car?
Yes. There is a public car park opposite the marina. Security guards patrol the car park and marina from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., 7 days a week.

How big is the stove?
The stove is gas operated and has 4 top burners, grill and a small oven. The oven takes a medium, 2-litre casserole dish.

Does the boat have a microwave?
Only the "Destination" and "Resort" have microwave ovens.

How big is the fridge?
The fridge is slightly larger than a bar fridge and there is also ample cool storage space.

Is there a TV, video or DVD, CD & radio on board?
Yes, be aware that TV reception is marginal with in the National Park

What is the electrical voltage on board?
12 volt only (like a car battery). Therefore, you cannot plug in a standard 240-volt hairdryer. Only the "Destination" and "Resort" have inverters fitted.

Can I recharge my mobile on board?
Yes, you can charge you mobile phone via the 12-volt cigarette socket. This is the same as in a car.

Is there fresh water on the boat?
Yes, there is 600 litres of fresh water. We recommend that you bring bottled water for drinking.

Do you supply fishing equipment?
No. We suggest you bring your own fishing gear and license. Bait is available at Akuna Bay Marina. Some boats have fishing licenses attached to them.

Can I swim from the boats?
Yes, most boats are fitted with swim ladders.

Can I bring an animal on board?
No, animals are not allowed as we are situated in a National Park.

What restaurants can we go to?
There are a variety of waterfront restaurants throughout the area; however,access at times may be restricted. Our staff can provide you with more information.

Can you drive the boat at night?
No, marine regulations do not permit night running with any hire boat.

What additional charges are their?
Insurance bond, this covers any damage that may occur.Sheets, towels, pillow slips are charged at $12 per person Fuel costs are charged per engine running hour, the cost is deducted from your bond Late arrivals and late returns will incur a service charge. The use of credit cards incurs a service charge; this is 1.32% for MasterCard, Visa. AMEX is not accepted. These charges are deducted from your bond and may change with out notice.

Payments?
A $100 deposit is required at the time of booking Personal and company Cheque's should be made payable to Clipper Cruiser Holidays and received 10 days before departure. Cheques will not be accepted on the day of departure. The use of credit cards will incur a service charge

Departure?
No later than 4PM, allow 2 hours from arrival to load your boat and receive your briefing before departure. Late arrivals will incur an additional service charge as our staff finish at 4PM.
